Building on acreage out here

Building in the country means more than the house. There's the driveway and culvert, getting power out from the electric co-op, a septic system designed for your soil, and either a water line or a well. We plan all of that on the lot walk and handle it during the build, so you're not chasing a different contractor for each piece.

This is Blackland clay country, and it moves. We engineer every foundation for the site. On metal buildings, our starting point is 4,000 psi concrete, 36-inch beams and #4 rebar, and then the engineer adjusts it for your soil.

Most of this area is outside city limits, so there's usually no building permit. You'll still need septic approval, and sometimes a driveway or floodplain permit. In town, the city's permits and inspections apply.

Every build includes

  • A free lot walk with a rough estimated price range
  • Foundations engineered for your lot's soil
  • Site work, septic and utilities handled
  • A guaranteed contract price before construction starts
  • One team from first call to final walkthrough

Questions

Building in Lott, Troy, Rosebud & Moody

Do you build barndominiums in Falls County?

Yes. Lott, Rosebud, Chilton and the rest of Falls County are some of our most common barndominium areas.

Do you handle septic, the well and the electric hookup?

Yes. We coordinate septic design and installation, the water supply (either a water line or a well), the electric co-op service and the driveway, all as part of a turnkey build.

How do you price a metal building with a lean-to?

The lean-to is part of the same slab and structure, so we price the metal building on the total slab square footage, lean-to included.

Do I need a building permit out in the county?

Unincorporated areas usually don't require a county building permit, but septic approval is required, and some lots need a driveway or floodplain permit. We handle those for you.
