Bell and Coryell counties
Building on your land around Killeen
The west side of Bell County is hill country. Lots around Killeen, Harker Heights and Nolanville often have slope, rock close to the surface and water that moves fast in a storm. Getting the grading, drainage and foundation right on that kind of ground is where a build is won or lost, so we look at all of it on the lot walk before we give you a number.
A lot of families here are tied to Fort Hood, whether they're staying after retirement or putting down roots for the long run. If you plan to use a VA loan, bring it up early. Construction financing works differently from buying an existing house, and not every lender offers it. We'll start the lending process with you during the Pre-Construction Agreement so financing moves along with the design.
Inside city limits, the build goes through that city's permits and inspections. Outside them, we handle septic, driveway and any floodplain approvals the lot needs.
Every build includes
- A free lot walk with a rough estimated price range
- Foundations engineered for your lot's soil
- Site work, septic and utilities handled
- A guaranteed contract price before construction starts
- One team from first call to final walkthrough

Building in Killeen & Harker Heights
Can I use a VA loan to build a custom home?
Often, yes, but VA construction financing isn't offered by every lender, so raise it early. We start the lending process during the Pre-Construction Agreement so you know where you stand before the final proposal.
My lot in Harker Heights has a slope. Is that a problem?
Usually not, but it changes the site work, drainage and foundation. We look at all of it on the free lot walk and build it into the estimated range we give you.
How long does it take to build?
It depends on the plan, the lot and permitting. We'll give you a realistic schedule at the pre-construction meeting and keep you updated through the build.
Do you build in Copperas Cove and Coryell County too?
Yes. We build across Coryell County as well as Bell County.
